Airpods Pro are vastly better than the previous versions. The sound quality has improved, there are multiple new features and the charging box is wireless. The price tag is a bit high but it is the perfect fit for an Apple user.

Apple has released the updated version of earphones, Airpods Pro, with premium features. However, this time with an even higher price tag of $219.

Will Airpods Pro be the right fit for you?

Naturally, anyone with an iOS device should get the Airpods Pro. It provides you with multiple features and an amazing sound.

These are perfect for the wireless enthusiasts out there because effective active noise canceling is difficult to find in this type of wireless earphone,

Athletes should go for this option due to its sweat resistant abilities and the new secure design.

How does Airpods Pro differ from its predecessors?

Apple has given Airpods Pro a drastic remodeling. They may look similar to the previous Airpods but have a completely different design.

AirPods Pro has a new in-ear design, there are nozzles with silicon tips that seal the ear canal and improve sound quality along with the noise-canceling function.

The noise-canceling Airpods Pro connect to your iPhone via a pop that appears on your screen. While Android users that have opted for these will have to dig into settings and connect through Bluetooth.

The Airpods Pro has a stemmed design but this time with a bonus. You can control your music by squeezing the indentation. New functionality is transparency mode; this allows you to tune into your surroundings while listening to music. This way you’ll be aware of what’s going on around you even have a conversation without putting a stop to your tunes.

When you remove the Airpods Pro, the motion-detecting functionality facilitates auto-pause and play-detection. The force sensors in the stem, allow you to take calls and control your music (Apple AirPods Pro Review, 2020).

Battery Life

SoundGuys recorded 5 hours, 6 minutes of constant playback with noise-canceling turned on while connected to an iOS device. With the Lightning case fully charged, you can enjoy up to 24 hours of playtime before topping up. It takes just five minutes in the charging case and you have one hour of listening with the AirPods Pro.

This version has a wireless charging box and users with the iOS 14 update will be able to check the battery through a pop-up on their devices.

How can Android users connect to Apple Airpods Pro?

Android users will have to put in a little bit of effort if they want to use the AirPods Pro. You’ll have to hold the back of the charging box to turn Bluetooth mode on then go to Bluetooth settings in your phone and scan for available devices. Once the Airpods show up, simply connect.

There are certain drawbacks to using the Airpods Pro on an Android device. The auto-pause when you remove one earbud does not work and obviously, Siri is a no go. However, noise-canceling and transparency mode work well by pressing and holding the stems.

New Features Announced

Apple has announced at WWDC 2020 that iOS users will have an additional feature soon. If you are listening to music from your phone and then you open a video on your mac, the Airpods Pro will automatically connect to the mac.

Is the noise-cancellation worth it?

The Apple Airpods have been redesigned to give maximum noise-cancellation. The feature is quite impressive but not in the top tier of noise-canceling headphones.

What is Spatial Audio?

Another announcement was made at WWDC; Spatial Audio is Apple’s version of 3D audio. The technology combines software and hardware accelerometers within the AirPods Pro to place sound cues around the listener, effectively placing the listener smack dab in the center of the action (Apple AirPods Pro Review, 2020).

Spatial Audio will be compatible with 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound encoded videos along with Dolby Atmos. This means that you should be able to simulate surround sound content with just the AirPods. This new feature is available with the iOS 14 update.

Another update is that, if you are in a moving vehicle the Airpods will be able to detect if you are moving or if your surroundings are.

Is the sound better?

To make the listening experience as uniform as possible, the AirPods Pro intelligently equalize music playback based on the shape of each listener’s ears. This combined with effective passive and active noise attenuation makes these sounds markedly better than their forerunners. Users will not be disappointed by the sound quality for sure.

The Microphone

Apple Airpods Pro allows you to take calls with ease. Voices are relayed with minimal deviation across the vocal spectrum, which means your low-pitched voice and your friend’s high-pitched voice should both sound accurate when relayed with the AirPods Pro (Apple AirPods Pro Review, 2020). There are minor disturbances but that shouldn’t be much of a problem.

The Verdict

Apple has fixed many of the issues that were in the previous version. The design modifications vastly improve the sound quality which is ideal for songs transfer and fit. The noise-canceling function makes it easier to focus on one thing while the transparency mode is great for being aware of your surroundings.

Overall, these are the ideal earphones for Apple users, and if you are debating if the price is worth it. It sure is!
